Gas Heating

Gas is becoming more and more popular in our area. Natural gas service is expanding, and in areas without natural gas there are many LP (propane or bottled) gas suppliers to choose from. We can even assist you in selecting a gas supplier. Gas heating is warmer than an electric heat pump, and it heats up quickly if you set your thermostat back at night or during the day while you are away. This makes gas an attractive choice for heating. Trane has a generous offering of gas heating products, both gas-packs and furnaces. Gas Packs, packaged gas heating/electric cooling units, are approximately 80% efficient. They are located outside your home or business and the warm air is ducted inside. Gas furnaces have efficiencies up to 94% and usually must be located in a designated furnace area inside the home. Both gas packs and furnaces are available in 2-speed and 2-stage heating models. 2-speed or 2-stage models are more efficient and eliminate short cycling during milder weather by coming on at reduced capacity.
