Mini Splits & PTACS

Do you have a sunroom or room over your garage that is not comfortable? We have the answer. Try a Mini Split or PTAC (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner) heat pump. Although they are not designed to heat or cool an entire home or business they do an excellent job on remote or problem rooms.

A mini split is a 2-piece heating/cooling system that does not require ductwork. The inside unit that distributes the air can be installed on any exterior wall. It is connected to a compressor located outside. Since the compressor is outside these systems are very quiet.

Another option is the PTAC or “motel unit”. These units are installed through the wall at floor level and operate much like a window air conditioner. You may have spent the night in a motel that used PTACs. PTAC’s heat and cool and are an economical alternative to a mini split or central system.
