Downstairs system-low deltaT, found it 2lbs low on R410a. Costumer approved charging 2lbs of R-410a refrigerant into the system. Upstairs system-compressor megged out on the caution level.2012 system, Upon start up on cool, compressor sounds like the the internal mechanism is failings, after 10 minutes of operating, the indoor metering piston indicates signs of restriction as well as overcharged, superheat bounces up and down drastically throughout operation. Due to age of the system and expensive repair costs, a field super Was requested to provide a solution. Costumer invested into 1 system PSA yearly. [email protected]

Trane 3.0-Ton Gas Pack

Amanda Benson 252-902-6385 Tech confirmed shorted tstat wire between wall and new RTU. 15 volts present on Blue and Green. 28 volts present on W. 8 on Y. Could not get package unit working with existing tstat wire. Tech cut duct detector wire to temporarily mount focus pro tstat inside return panel next to filters. Heat is on 68 and cool is on 73. Need to return to pull new tstat wire and reconnect duct detector. Did not see duct detector location while on site today. Wire runs down return duct.

RETURNED TO REPLACE 14x14x1 FILTER.

PERFORMED CMA INSPECTION ON (5) GAS PACKAGE UNITS, AND (2) SPLIT HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS. CHANGED ALL FILTERS. SERIAL: C151348576 FRONT MIDDLE SYSTEM FOUND SHORT CYCLING/EVAPORATOR COILS FROZEN DUE TO FAILED VARIABLE SPEED BLOWER MOTOR. COMPRESSOR READING BAD. HANDED OVER TO FILED SUPERVISOR. COSTLY REPAIRS NOT RECOMMENDED. REQUESTED SOLUTION ASAP. SYSTEM IS DOWN.

Tech found a blown fuse due to a 24v short at the pressure switch wire rubbing against suction pipe. Tech repaired wire and replaced fuse. System is operating properly at this time.

Tech found system in rollout switch fault and rollout switch was hanging off. Tech made sure heat exchangers were good and bypassed rollout for testing purposes and found system running properly. Tech removed jumper and reconnected it to rollout switch. Due to age of equipment and type of refrigerant, tech tested refrigerant and found system void of refrigerant and noticed an acid smell on gauges. Tech performed acid test but not enough refrigerant in the system to get an accurate reading. With acid in the system, tech recommends replacing compressor and performing a leak search to see if coil is leaking. Due to price of replacing coil, compressor, refrigerant and roll out switch, tech recommends replacing unit. Attached estimates due not include the price to replace coil and compressor only switch, pull a vacuum pressure test and recharge system. Field supervisor will be in contact.

Tech found no difficulties at this time. System is heating and cooling properly.

REPLACED 14x20 FILTER IN HALLWAY AND LEFT EXTRA FILTER.

Tech found no difficulties at this time. Tech informed homeowner about repairing thermostat due to buttons falling off. Homeowner wants to wait for right now.

Tech thoroughly cleaned both systems, tech found no challenges at todays visit. Both systems are in good operating order. Photos/system performance reports on file. Tech only had one 14x20x1 filter on truck, need to have a tech come back by with a 14x20x1 filter for return in living area.

Tech performed maintenance per energy savings agreement. Tech found weak capacitor on upstairs unit tech replaced per homeowner approval tech collected $192.81 under Trane warranty. Tech suggested ez trap on both units to help prevent any back flow and overflow in the future homeowner will wait till next I sent estimate.

Replaced an inducer draft motor found bad by previous tech. Programmed the Trane 624 thermostat back to dual fuel, outdoor unit is set to HP and indoor to gas. Tested heat pump and gas heat. System is back heating.

Tech talked with customer and they explained the unit was making a loud noise and smoking out the vent. Tech inspected and found blades from the draft blower wheel in the flue duct indicating the wheel had come apart. Presented customer with repair estimate and they approved. Draft assembly will need to be ordered due to not being truck stock. Tech reconfigured 624 thermostat for for heatpump only and will need to be reconfigured back to dual fuel setup when repair is made.

Tech found blower motor rocking back and forth with a constant 24v on the 1st speed tap. Tech found 240v between L and N at the motor. This indicates a failed motor/module. Quoted 405 for warranty blower split system. Customer will call back if they want it replaced

Tech found system throwing open pressure switch error with inducer running. Tech verified inducer was pulling an induced draft, heat exchangers are in good shape and inducer port is not clogged. Tech found when touching pressure switch wires, the unit came on. This indicates a loose connection or sticking pressure switch. Tech replaced pressure switch and thermostat per customer request and system is running properly but airflow is poor due to ductwork condition

FOUND PLENUM UNSCREWED AND OPEN CAUSING AIR TO ESCAPE. RE-SECURED PLENUM AND SEAL-TAPED.

[email protected] Found heat not on due to a dirty pressure switch. Costumer was concerned about cold spots in the house. Checked duct work and found air leaks on the basement section and multiple non insulated supply lines under the main house. Videos were captured and on file. Duct work appears to be original to the house, it is old and damaged. Costumer would like to speak with a field supervisor about a solution to duct work or have the option for 2 separate systems. Only one system (4 ton gas pack) is present at the moment to heat up both upstairs and downstairs, duct work/airflow is the main challenge at this time. Need to schedule a field supervisor sometime next week to provide a solution. (252) 406-0320 Ashruf. Costumer also invested in yearly PSA. System is heating at this time.
