History of HVAC Technician Day
If you’ve never heard of HVAC Technician Day, which is June 22, that may be because it’s very new. It was first proposed in 2016 by an HVAC company that provides heating and air services across the country. They recognized that the duties of an HVAC technician can be quite difficult, many times spending hours in small spaces under a home, often performed in brutal heat or bitter cold, and that those brave and skilled enough to perform those duties deserve recognition. The day was also approved that same year by the National Calendar Day Registrar, and it’s been celebrated on June 22 ever since.
How to Appreciate Your HVAC Professional
So how do you celebrate this new holiday? Here are a few ideas.
- Take care of your system. The simplest thing to do for your HVAC professional is rely on them for regular maintenance to avoid more costly and time-consuming repairs in the future. Check your air filters regularly and replace them when needed. Have holes in your ductwork repaired to save energy, and make sure you have enough insulation.
- Give gifts. There is nothing that an HVAC technician appreciates more than a heartfelt thank you.
- Spread the word! Recommend your HVAC professional team to your friends and neighbors who might be looking for quality, reliable service. Post on social media about celebrating HVAC Technician Day, get a picture with your technician in front of your system. Leave a 5 star review for them.
