How much does it cost to replace my HVAC system near Greenville?

A complete HVAC replacement costs between $5,000 and $10,000. The cost of the replacement unit covers installation, removal, and disposal. Your estimate is based on the kind you now have and the size of the system you intend to purchase. It may be less expensive than a completely new installation.

Why isn't my home air conditioner keeping my Greenville area home cold?

Clogged filters are one of the most typical causes of AC problems. Filters can become clogged by dirt, pet hair, pollen, and dust. When filters get blocked, the movement of air through your AC becomes restricted. As a consequence, your air conditioner does not efficiently chill your interior air. Filters that are clogged can also disrupt the operation of your system's interior evaporator coil and outdoor condenser unit.

The simplest method to avoid problems with clogged filters is to clean them on a regular basis and replace them as needed. We recommend that you replace them every three months. Those who have pets may need to change their filters more frequently.

How do I know if my indoor air is clean near Greenville?

If your indoor air is clean you should not see any of these three major warning signs.

  1. Coughing, along with difficulty breathing, are among the most common signs of poor air quality. The concentration of particles in the air may be the source of these respiratory difficulties due to a lack of ventilation. Without sufficient air circulation, fresh oxygen in the room will dwindle.
  2. Sneezing, along with coughing and breathing problems, is another sign. It may also be accompanied by watery eyes and nose and throat discomfort. These symptoms are also indicators of potential allergic responses.
  3. Too much dust! Make it a point to keep the dust buildup under control by cleaning on a regular basis. Investing in a basic feather duster and using it a few times each week will help keep dust and debris out of your home's air.

Tech found unit door open and switched off. Unit has been down for 2 years. Tech turned system on and tested and found blower not running. Tech found 24 v at g. Tech bypassed the board and found blower running but wheel was shaking. Tech found there was no screw in blower compartment and thread was stripped. Tech quoted replacing board and wheel. Tech recommends replacing unit due to age (26 years old), cost of repair and likeliness that something else will fail soon as well. After reviewing history, it appears there was a gas leak at the same unit previously as well. Tech found the other unit in that are was set to heat not cool. Customer agreed to quote for replacement, field supervisor notified. Unit is in mechanical room labeled unit 5.

Tech found 1 60amp fuse blown and replaced. 50 amp fuse beside it on the same circuit was not blown. Tech checked amp draw refrigerant pressures, connections and megged both compressors. Tech found total system run amps only at 28. Both compressors pulled well below LRA on startup and megged good. Since no issues were found with the system and 60 amp fuse blew but not the 50, tech suspects an issue with the disconnect and recommends replacing by an electrician since it is a 3 phase circuit. No charge per office

Performed CMA Inspection on 2 Rooftop Gas Package Units. Gas Pack 1 - Services Front of Space - System is cooling properly at the time of maintenance. All electrical tested to spec and the system is holding a temperature change over between 18-20 degrees. One thing of concern on this unit, the Megohm test on the compressor revealed a CAUTION rating. This means that the windings in the compressor are deteriorating. This will need to be monitored going forward to ensure the compressor does not become grounded. Gas Pack 2 - Services Back of Space - no challenges present today. The system is cooling properly and holding a temperature change over of 19 degrees.

This is the second time I’ve worked with Caleb for pricing out a new AC. He was on time and communicated well before actually arriving to confirm time and expectations. He is always straightforward, honest, personable, and respectful. It is the company practice to cover the shoes when coming in the house, even when I say it’s not necessary. He provided a detailed quote before leaving. It was a thoroughly pleasant experience.
