Tech found low refrigerant pressure in system, searched for leak in evaporator coil, and got six strong consistent hits in the same location on the bottom side of the right coil. Tech informed customer of the leak and checked outdoor unit to ensure it was the only leak. Customer requested a quote to replace the coil and a quote to replace the system. Warranty expired in 2023. Tech informed customer that we will contact them on Monday and send a field supervisor to create an estimate. Customer mentioned the blower has a light burning smell when running and requested tech to examine it. Tech observed amp draw ranging from 2.7A to 2.9A with FLA of 2.9 on 1/3HP blower motor. Advised customer that the motor likely needs to be replaced and there are no guarantees how long it will run before failing. Created estimate for motor replacement and customer decided to postpone for the time being. Only charged for leak search. Left air handler power on, condenser off.

Tech inspected duct system and found no challenges, photos on file. Both supply vents in bedroom of concern are covered and door is normally closed. Recommended keeping vents unobstructed if possible and keeping door open. Found low delta t at system, 10 degree split. Found system running high pressures, customer invested in maintenance agreement. Tech went ahead and cleaned condensing coil, pressures dropped. Delta t is still low, piston is restricted or incorrectly sized. Sent estimate for repair price.

Upon arrival homeowner stated thermostat was reading 88 and is set at 78. Tech inspected system, pressures are within spec, compressor amp draws are good and proper air flow is present. Thermostat is reading incorrectly and will need to be replaced. Homeowner stated she will be purchasing her own thermostat and will call us to come out and install. Homeowner to be billed out for todays visit, discussed todays visit with office.

Tech returned and replaced compressor contractor and system cycles on and off properly.

SPLICED NEW THERMOSTAT WIRE FROM HOOD TO ELECTRICAL COMPARTMENT IN PLACE OF DAMAGED WIRING FROM DOGS. REPLACED BLOWN 3A FUSE AS WELL. CYCLED SYSTEM WITH NO FURTHER CHALLENGES.

Tech found system cooling upon arrival running at correct pressures with 18 delta t. Tech found when turning system off pressures do not equalize show signs of failing/ non condensables in TXV. Customer wants to Schedule TXV replacement for August 1st or 2nd when he gets paid. Signed up for PSA

Upon arrival customer stated system is not keeping up during the day. Tech found 2nd stage not engaging, tech found t stat programmed for single stage tech reprogrammed t stat system is cooling properly at this time in 2nd stage.

Replacing the shower faucet in guest bathroom and replacing trim and cartridge on master bathroom.

Upon arrival tech was informed carrier thermostat had a E1 code meaning loss of communication. Tech began inspecting system and found the communication board mounter under the hood making a loud buzzing noise. Tech informed homeowner we would need to order new board. Homeowner wanted to wait for the time being. System was left in the off position at the disconnect.

Tech washed and serviced unit end found no challenges at this time. Customer paid via check. Customer will give us a call for maintenance agreement.

Tech found permanent filters frozen to A coil on arrival. Tech removed frozen filters for testing. System is a 3 ton Carrier R22 heat pump condenser with Intertherm electric furnace inside. After removing filters clogged with ice and defrosting unit for 5 minutes, tech leak searched indoor A coil and picked up small leaking area in bottom right corner near drain pan. See video. Tech ran system in cooling mode and allowed system to stabilize. Design subcooling is 10 degrees. Tech did not find system low on refrigerant. Tech suspects previous owner may have had system charged before Mr Mcgarry moved in. 7.5uf blower capacitor is reading very weak at 3.9uf. Repairs needed are an R22 evaporator coil (see picture) and 7.5uf blower capacitor. Please call back to quote. Mike is running mandatory.

Performed ESA, tech cleaned and serviced system. Tech found unit did not have a drain line causing water to leak everywhere around the pad. Also dogs have dug up underneath pad and environment around unit is not the best. Evaporator coil was extremely caked up and filter was clogged. Informed homeowner of findings and recommended to swap filter out every month due to dogs being inside. Tech collected for todays visit.

Tech performed ESA on 1 system. Package hp- tech serviced and cleaned system, found no challenges at todays visit system is operating properly at this time.

Tech found low voltage fuse blown. System is very dirty and dogs have been digging around unit. Tech found section of thermostat wire that has possibly been chewed. Customer says she plans to prevent them from messing with the unit in the future. Tech recommends a fence. Customer approved replacement of short section of thermostat wire. Tech spliced in new section of thermostat wire and ran it in a conduit to prevent future chewing. There is some torn insulation on duct system. Ductwork is intact. Shows signs of age, wear and tear. Tech let customer know we can provide a free quote on duct replacement. Customer approved MPA maintenance agreement. Need to return to do first service ASAP. System is dirty. Quoted $138.03 including tax for first tune up on monthly plan.

Tech found a new dual run capacitor was installed but wired incorrectly tech rewired it system started up tech found pressure R22 were high tech noticed condenser coil was dirty. Tech sprayed coil down with water hoses high side lowered 30 psi with little water indicating coil is clogged tech informed customer on finding and benefits of membership customer approved rewiring and invested in premium monthly. They want to schedule tune up earliest as possible they are aware if tune up fee. System is cooling at this time

Customer says system has not been cooling for over a week and a half. Tech found low side of state frozen. Rain hood is undersized and not connected at all. Tech saw 18” flex duct return split and pulling crawlspace air. Inspected crawlspace duct system and found it poorly installed and in very poor condition. The return is an 18” flex that is split in the low area on the other side of foundation wall. Flex is crunched where it goes through old brick foundation about 10 feet into crawlspace. Foundation wall inside crawlspace needs to be enlarged before replacing return. The majority of the ductwork is laying on crawlspace floor and none of the boots or takeoffs are properly insulated. Just taped. Boots and takeoffs are sweating causing the branch duct insulation to be wet. Electrical and plumbing is in the way in multiple places. Tech recommends removing existing ductwork, strapping electrical and plumbing to joists, enlarging interior crawlspace foundation hole, replacing ductwork

Tech performed ESA on 1 system. Tech found no challenges or concerns with system/operations of system. System is operating properly upon departure.

Tech performed PTU on 1 system. Tech found compressor capacitor testing weak at 30 MFD rated for 45 MFD +-6% and blower capacitor testing weak at 12 MFD rated for 15 mfd +-6%. Tech recommended replacement, homeowner approved. Tech installed 15 mfd and 45 mfd capacitors for blower and compressor. All major tests tested well (coil and compressor) system is operating properly upon departure. Homeowner also mentioned to inspect ducts, upon inspection, tech didn’t see any external damage to duct system, could not access all of it due to water lines and fallen insulation. Tech did notice internal damage to lines and insulation being present in ducts. Homeowner stated snake came in last year and presumes it was through duct system. Homeowner would like supervisor to give him a call about installing a mini split on barn (man cave). Homeowner got on PSA plan, paid for all repairs and tune up fee and PSA via check 3961

Tech serviced and washed unit, found capacitor testing week. Customer Opted for universal Turbo capacitor. Paid Via Visa. Customer requests that calls be in morning Time.

Tech found system is 2 flash lockout code. Tech found system voided of refrigerant, tech explained age of system and cost of repair and recommended replacement. Call in the morning to set up sales lead.
