The service technician had over 25 years of experience, was very professional, and quickly installed the back order part our heating system needed. On the last visit, Jackson and Sons installed a temporary part to give our family heat until the new part arrived. Had it not been for them going the extra mile to help us with the “loaner” part, we would have been without heat until the back order part arrived. I highly recommend Jackson and Sons.

Tech removed failed mini lime pump. Adjusted lineset up and swapped drain tube from left side to right side of indoor unit. Inserted plug on left side of drain pan. Installed new mini lime pump and tested with several water bottles. System is draining and cooling correctly. Collected $415 plus tax for warranty repair.

Performed cma full service on one split system. Installed ez trap and union on condensate drain lines to clear blockage and properly service on susbsequent visits per on site approval by Ronnie. System working properly at this time.

Tech removed faulty heat exchanger and installed new heat exchanger. Sealed with high temp fire caulk. Cleaned three inshot burners with wire brush. Set low stage at 6”WC LP and high stage and 10”WC LP. Allowed system to heat for ten minutes continuously with no further challenges. Burners are functional, but tech recommends replacing the three OEM burners before next winter to keep flames from fanning out. Tested cooling without challenges. Tech billed for repair.

Tech performed maintenance on one system per energy savings agreement. System is heating and cooling properly at this time. Tech investigated moisture issue and determined moisture issue was not caused by HVAC system. Tech recommended customer have gutters installed or a crawlspace encapsulation installed to prevent excess moisture from getting under house. Tech recommended adding plasma pure air ionization device to prevent buildup/mold in air handler/duct system and to improve indoor air quality. Customer approved.

Staff reported system failing to light. Tech found manual reset rollout switch on the top of burners tripped. Tech reset rollout and burners lit. Tech disassembled and inspected heat exchanger. Tech found multiple cracks and holes in heat exchanger. To repair system and get it back heating, we would need to replace non warranty heat exchanger and inshot burners. Due to cost of repair on 14 year old system, tech recommends replacing unit. Reassembled unit and tested cooling. System is cooling, but not heating. Hal Harrison is the contact. Tech found the indoor evaporator coil with signs of ice left on it, tech removed the remaining chunks of ice and inspected the evaporator coil for any any air flow restrictions and tested the indoor blower operation. Tech checked pressures and found the saturation temperature for the indoor coil slightly below 32 degrees, with slight abnormal pressures. Tech found the indoor TXV bulb not secured well. Tech secured the indoor TVX bulb and insulated it. Saturation temperature and pressures went up to normal specs based on outdoor and indoor temperatures. Costumer stated that this is the 2nd time the coil has frozen up. 1st time was about a month ago or so but then it was cooling normal with no ice build challenges and this is the 2nd time. Tech suspects that the indoor TXV was sticking and shutting down during those times, however Tech was unable to duplicate the challenge to verify a TXV failure at this time based on refrigerant pressures. P.o 4735 tech was informed unit was heating on cool mode tech tested system and found unjt was heating tech tested reversing valve reversing valve had failed was stuck and tech could not get reversing valve to engage to operate in cool mode tech would hear a hiss from valve but not to normal splush sound tech quoted out $3216.46 for reversing valve under 5ton customer did say they wanted to get on cma tech called office to send him quote on cma

Tech found water in blower indicating coil was frozen at one point tech jumped to cycle cool while gauges connected tech found pressure at 60/209 tech further inspected unit and found blower working in opposite direction tech tested other speeds and some will start off slow but still ran in opposite direction tech found failed control board as well at 3/4 115v blower motor blower motor price is $1263 plus tax cam price $1074 p.o #4740

Upon arrival tech found system off. Tech cut system on and it came on and was working properly. Condenser fan motor was still pulling 1.04 amps and the max amp rating for that motor was .95. Tech recommended replacing. Customer approved replacing condenser fan motor. Tech also found turbo capacitor mounted where it was arching on the side of unit. Tech secured connections and added electrical tape to ensure no more arching would occur. When tech went to cut system back on, tech noticed condenser not getting y call. Tech found the condensate pan full of water. Tech purged out line with water hose and got system draining properly again. Tech did not charge for clearing condensate drain line because this should have been done during maintenance. Customer also stated he didn’t like the way the after market condenser fans were mounted with the wires exposed and tied to grill above fan. System is back up and functioning properly at this time.

Performed cma inspection on one gas pack and one split system. Systems operating correctly at this time. Found blower wheel on furnace in need of cleaning. Found evaporator coil on furnace very rusted and in poor condition. Recommend full service to clean blower wheel at next visit.
