Someone came out very quickly to speak to us about our options. Our AC unit is original to the house and we knew it was time to replace it. After we choose our option, it was installed in 2 weeks. We know that there is a labor shortage, so we were patient. The two men who came out to install the unit were very polite and efficient. We always trust Jackson and Sons with our AC/Heating systems. It might be pricey, as some report, but it’s done right.

Tech heat pump not operating, just AUX. Tech checked compressor and breakers. Tech cycled power and after the system delay, compressor started operating. Tech tested defrost and found system getting stuck on defrost mode causing high pressure switch to lock out system. Tech found defrost thermostat sensor stuck closed with high ohm value. Costumer approved replacing thermostat sensor. Tech tested system after replacing sensor. Heat pump is operating properly at this time.

Customer stated blower motor intermittently not coming on sometimes. Customer also stated he cleaned both of us coils on Saturday and has worked fine since. Tech began to check blower controls and tried to duplicate issue multiple times but no issues are present. Tech tested blower relay for cooling and auxiliary heat blower relay and neither of them are sticking. Told customer to leave system exactly how it is if issue presents itself again. System working properly at this time

Upon arrival, outdoor coil was severely frozen over. Tech forced system into defrost and found no issues with defrost control. Tech checked the resistance on the ambient and coil temperature sensors. Both sensors were reading 28kOhms. 28kOhms corresponds to a temperature reading of approximately 37°F. Tech inspected both sensors and found the coil temperature sensor bundled up and wire-tied together inside the compressor compartment. Tech moved the coil sensor to the correct location and tested system operation. The system resumed normal operation after cycling through defrost and terminating as intended. No charge, per install/service warranty.

Upon arrival tech found outdoor coil freezing up tech tested defrost everything tested well but kept freezing up tech checked filter and found it super dirty replaced filter and unit is now defrosting properly.
