SOSA - Dudley, NC 28333
I called today and they came today!! That’s what I call “service in a timely manner!” The service technician made sure the system was working properly. He even gave it a second try after it looked as though everything was OK. For some reason, the system didn’t want to start up this time…The technician went back to work until he found out what was going on. The heater is up and running!!

Indoor temperature was 83 degrees on arrival. Fan switch was set to ON. Customer reported system blowing cold earlier. Tech took refrigerant pressures in heating and cooling. Defrost cycled correctly. Dual capacitor is reading weak. Tech could not inspect air handler due to padlock on crawlspace access. Customer can’t find the key. Tech switched system and fan off at thermostat. Blower shut off after 90 second delay multiple times. Tech found 30/5uf dual capacitor reading 22% weak at 23.43uf. Tech could not duplicate challenge with system blowing cold as customer described. Tech recommends leaving fan switch on auto so blower doesn’t blow unheated air on customer during off cycle. Tech also explained that the supply temperature will not always feel hot depending on if system is in running first stage, second stage (heat pump plus strips), or defrost. Tech recommends getting system on ESA maintenance and replacing low capacitor. Customer approved replacement of capacitor and regula

Ignition control board was flashing a 1 flash for ignition failure. Tech cycled power to clear lockout. Hot surface igniter did not glow when it was supposed to. Confirmed 120 volts to igniter. Propane tank is not empty and gas valve is opening correctly. Coleman hot surface igniter/flame rod assembly will need to be replaced to get furnace heating. Tech quoted regular price of $624.21 plus tax to order hot surface igniter/flame sensor assembly. Tech recommends ordering part and also getting system on ESA preventative maintenance. Customer approved ordering parts. They will decide on ESA or not when we come back to repair.

Trane 1.5-Ton Heat Pump w/ Air Handler & Plasma Air
Ronnie P.
Tech performed ESA on 1 system. Tech found no challenges with system. Homeowner inquired about turning on Goodman gas pack, system had no power to it and tech could not locate any disconnect or breaker for system. Tech believes it may not be wired to any breaker box. Trane system is heating properly upon departure, media filter not needing to be replaced yet as it was installed 6 months ago. Tech did notice large rust buildup near burners, burners are functioning properly however. Homeowner would like a technician to come out and look at Goodman system and determine if repairs need to be made/ if the homeowner wants it on, they can turn it on etc. not a maintenance, just see what it would take to get it running (could very well just be a breaker that technician could not locate)
