Tech found the wires going to a/h were spliced and electric said they will have to put a panel up there with w breakers feeding the a/h. Tech was able to trace back the main power wire to a 100 amp breaker that’s as tripped on the outside panel tech reset breaker and system started up tech programmed thermostat. Tech then ran cooling mode and added 10oz of 410a to achieve the request cooling of 8 degrees. Temperature inside was 49 supply 70 return. Tech then etched heat strips found the amp draws was 20.1 amps within specs. Tech tested heat pump heat temperature being 96 supply 70 return. System is operating properly at this time. Tech removed the 60 amp fuse from condenser disconnect replaced with 40 amp.

Upon arrival the thermostat was displaying a memory error message. Tech removed the thermostat face plate from the sub-base on the wall, allowed the thermostat to power down briefly and reinstalled. Thermostat booted back up and had to be reconfigured for proper system operation. System cycled on and heated with no challenge. Customer experienced a power outage over night due to storms, this could have caused the thermostat to malfunction due power blinking on and off. Tech replaced 20x30 air filter, dated 5/17/22 with customer supplied filter. System is working correctly at this time. Recommend having system on a regular service plan.

Found system cooling properly upon arrival, indoor blower was turning on and off as it should, system is clean, cool mode operated properly, pressures of 113/275, subcool of 15, superheat of 12, delta T of 22 degrees. While system turns off and on when it reaches temperature. Indoor furnace has a control board. Costumer stated that he noticed the outdoor unit not turning off when it should at times and that it tends to freeze up more at night time. Tech was unable to duplicate any challenge at this time of find any. Tech suspects a faulty thermostat but was unable to verify for now. Ceiling filters are slightly dirty but not enough to cause problems. Recommend having the ceiling filters replaced some time soon before they get worst. Told costumer to call us back If the challenge of having a freezing evaporator happens again.
