Replaced dual run cap on upstairs unit. Upstairs back to cooling Downstairs unit needed a new transformer. Replaced transformer and noted water in the primary float switch After fixing transformer found 1/3 blower motor to draw high amps and filter was dirty $989 plus tax to replace. Recommend maintenance plan or to at least schedule a cleaning of both systems. This will help prevent drain from over flowing We need to follow up and replace 1/3 blower motor for downstairs system . Tech lacked the time and a 7.5 mfd capacitor

Upon arrival tech found condensing unit not running on downstairs system. Tech removed thermostat faceplate and found 0 volts at R circuit. Air handler is located in crawlspace. Tech opened crawlspace door and found large snake at crawlspace entrance as well as multiple snake skins. Tech placed crawlspace door back and was unable to further diagnose system due to snake. Informed customer and recommended having pest control come out and taking care of snake issue. Tech stated to call back once taken care of so we can schedule to come back and further diagnose system. Customer agreed. Tech suspects blown fuse and most likely a low voltage short. Send tech that does not mind snakes if available for next visit. Collected $87.00 plus tax per Housecall fee.

Tech found system not heating due to a failed 7.5uf blower capacitor. Customer approved Housecall and capacitor only. Tech replaced capacitor and tested rest of the system. Emerson heat pump thermostat is installed, but system is straight cooling with electric furnace for heat. Quoted $402.46 to install appropriate thermostat for system (focus pro). Customer declined. He can use aux heat switch for heating to energize heat strips only and cool mode for cooling. Regular heat mode energizes cooling. Tech found 45uf compressor side of 45/5uf dual run capacitor reading 14% weak and 5uf fan side of capacitor reading severely weak at 1.5uf. Tech recommends replacing 45 compressor capacitor and older 1/10 1075 rpm fan motor. Quoted $983.24 including tax to install new 45 capacitor and 1/4 1075 fan motor. Customer declined. Tech recommended Premium plan in case system does not cool this summer, he can save Housecall fee. R22 system is cooling with a 16 degree delta t. Tech informed customer
